Academic Interventions
Title I is a Federally funded program that was passed by Congress in 1965 "to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach, at minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments." Funding is provided to schools with high percentages of low-income students and is determined by the free and reduced lunch for each school, and other data.
Roosevelt Elementary School is one of several Livonia Public Schools that receive funds from the United States government under Title I, Part A. To help overcome any academic disadvantage, students at Roosevelt Elementary School who are struggling in the academic areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies are eligible to receive supplementary services by our highly qualified Title I staff. In addition, Roosevelt Elementary is able to provide supplemental core academic support through the service of our Elementary Support Teachers (EST), classroom teachers, and the MTSS (Multiple-tiered System of Support) team. Our classroom teachers and interventionists work together to determine the necessary academic interventions.

A School-Parent Compact is a written commitment describing how all members of a school community (parents, staff, and students) agree to share responsibility for student learning. This compact helps bridge the learning connection between school and home. We are committed to maximizing the learning potential of each student that walks through our doors each day; however, we are wise enough to realize that it takes a village to raise a child. The following link is a Parent-School compact that includes what all members of our community (including students) can do to help accomplish this goal (please complete the quick survey):
Lastly, here is the link to the free and reduced lunch/breakfast application. Remember, this is a factor that leads to our funding. Please take a moment to complete the form online.
