Your child can submit one entry in each category that is allowed which would give him or her more chances on winning one or more categories.

Submit all artwork entries together with the Official Entry Form and Consent Form attached and drop off your child's entry submission at the School Secretary's office on or before MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2016.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THE OFFICIAL ENTRY FORM AND CONSENT FORM ARE ALL FILLED OUT AND ATTACHED/INCLUDED WITH THE ARTWORK ENTRY.

Benefits on joining the PTA Reflections Contest:

1) It helps your child unlock their potential and expression of their ideas and imagination through art by the following categories mentioned above.  Research studies have shown that children who are inclined to art tend to boost their critical thinking and reasoning in other curriculum/subject areas.
Bear in mind that people in the early days already expressed their art and imagination by the cave paintings that were discovered and hieroglyphics found in the pyramids of Egypt.

2) This Reflections Contest tends to promote and enhance one of the links of the chain of S.T.R.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art/Architecture, Music/Math) in which our schools and libraries are constantly trying to integrate in order to be competitive not only statewide but as a nation as a whole.
PTA Reflections has been around since 1969 and has been constantly promoting the expression of Art in many forms over the years.

3) Artwork entries submitted to the school competes with other schools citywide and if selected a winner, he/she may have the chance to advance to the State competition level based on the criteria and merit stipulated by the Rules of the Contest.  State competition winners then may have the chance to advance to the National Level contest in Washington DC next summer of 2017.
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." - Pablo Picasso

Miscellaneous:
Artwork submitted to the school on or before the November 7 citywide deadline are then collected and reviewed and submitted later for judging by the duly appointed Panel of Judges based on the criteria and merit stipulated by the contest rules. Last year's contest's Panel of Judges were from the Livonia Arts Commission.
