Good morning Roosevelt Families,

For the most part it was a tough weekend of football for some of our favorite teams.  The great news is that the families and staff in our Franklin Triad really showed what a wonderful community we live in and how relationships that are forged today or years ago in our schools matter significantly.   That is a major reason why focusing on a community with character will continue to be a priority in our daily practices.

As you know this is the vacation season!  The expectation is boys and girls who have i-Ready licenses spend 10-15 minutes daily on their i-Ready instruction.  During shortened weeks and vacations the expectation of 45 minutes per week of usage remains.  Please contact your child's teacher if you have any i-READY questions.

The Livonia Goodfellows' food drive was another huge success this year ... the Roosevelt community donated a total of 1,893 food items for the families needing our support. Monetary donations were also given this year by families and staff. We exceeded the school goal of 1,600 items! Miss Freitag's 4th grade class had the most donations of 296 items. PTA will provide a luncheon for Miss Freitag's class very soon. Mrs. Martz will acknowledge the committee of 4th graders for their hard work and dedication for the good of the cause.

Thank you to all who were able to participate in this charitable event. Your generosity is greatly appreciated by the many families needing assistance in Livonia and Westland.  Visit to learn more about the Livonia Goodfellows.

I want to send a big shout out to our Roosevelt PTA for continuing to sprinkle wonderful family events throughout the school year.  Stay tuned for additional PTA updates.
