Greetings Roosevelt families,

I figure I may not have that many opportunities to send an eblast out during a solar eclipse; so here you go!

Transportation and Teacher Assignments

You will NOT be getting a mailing about transportation this year.  You will need to access Parent Connect to find out the Bus Assignment and times.  If your child is in 1st -4th  grade, you will also need to access Parent Connect to find out your child's teacher assignment.  This will be available on Wednesday, August 30th via Parent Connect.

Kindergarten parents will receive a letter in the mail regarding their child's placement.

If you need assistance with accessing Parent Connect, please see the detailed directions attached to this email.

Playground Update

As our office communicated last school year, play structure events were removed last spring and into the summer from many of our school playgrounds after completing an assessment of all our playgrounds in the district.  Our school continues to have structures available for play as well as playground equipment available for our students to enjoy outdoor activities.  The Playground Committee continues to meet and is excited to bring even better playground structures to the schools as the 2017-2018 school year unfolds.

Bounce Back Night

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 22, 2017. The LPS Bounce Back night will be at Riley Upper Elementary School this year from 5-8:00 p.m. Lots of great activities are planned for children.  Come help celebrate the beginning of a great school year with Livonia Public Schools.  VisitBounce Back To School for additional details.

Lunch Applications

The Food Service Department is implementing new software that will include an online application process for free and reduced price meals. The link is . Parents can apply online using any device that connects to the internet, including smart phones. This is a much anticipated update and will make receiving and processing applications much quicker and efficient.

Have a great afternoon and enjoy the day!

Mr. Green
